If You Want To Be A Champion Seek The Last Place in This World

Exalting yourself prevents from being exalted before God. Even if get the highest position in the world it doesn’t matter if you are not exalted before God. For “whoever exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted” (Luke 14:11).

No virtue can be compared with humility because without humility there is no selfless love. This is why our savior keeps reminding us on different occasions of humility.

Avoid being the first when it comes to worldly desires and achievements. Instead seek the last place, teaches us Sb. John Chrysostom.

So whoever wants to be the champion, let him seek the last place because those who humble themselves will be exalted.
