The goal of the Lent is not to fast during the 40 day period and get back to routine after Easter. Instead, through deprivation from certain foods we try to control our body, change our thoughts and focus on Jesus.
As Christians we are in the process of putting off the old self, changing and becoming better people. Do not put the old self on after Easter. The goal is to change, which means, to think differently.
If you think differently, you will act differently too.
