You Are A Fortified City When God Is Preparing You

No matter how broken down your are, no matter how dismayed and discouraged you are by the problems of this world, when the Lord is acting and commissioning you for His work, you will become a fortified city.

Prophet Jeremiah

One day the word of the Lord came to a young and shy person, named Jeremiah, and told him that the Lord appoints him as a “prophet to the nations.” Jeremiah said, “Alas, Sovereign Lord, I don’t know how to speak, I am too young for it.” The Lord, who knew Jeremiah before he had formed him in the womb and had set apart,  replied and said, “Do not say, ‘I am too young.’ You must go to everyone I send you to and say whatever I command you. Do not be afraid of them, for I am with you and will rescue you.”

The Lord also added this.

Get yourself ready! Stand up and say to them whatever I command you. Do not be terrified by them, or I will terrify you before them. Today I have made you a fortified city, an iron pillar and a bronze wall to stand against the whole land—against the kings of Judah, its officials, its priests and the people of the land. They will fight against you but will not overcome you, for I am with you and will rescue you,” declares the Lord.

When God is preparing you to do his work, no matter how weak and unprepared you think you may be, you will be like a fortified city and you will stand “against the whole land” against kings, and powers and officials. If you are there for the work of God, no one will be able to overcome you because The Lord promised he will be with those who do his work. The Lord will rescue you.

Are You Ready?

Turn your hearts to the Lord our God and tell him with a loud voice: “I am ready for you my God. I am ready for you my heavenly Father. What do you want me to do for your will? What do you want me to do for my brothers and sister? I am here for you.”

Brothers and sisters, if the word of God has reached you, we are all ministers, we are all disciples, we are all called to help to spread the Word of God to His people. We are all called to take the light of Christ and be a light to the world and a salt of the earth. Are you ready?

Thank u very much for sending these words of encouragement and love from our Lord God… Needed to talk… Hope u dont mind…The problem is I dont feel I am called to do any thing right now . There was a time I felt very connected to our God. I always knew of God and Jesus but not really of being reborn and having a truly close relationship… Until Sept.24th 2001 the Lord made himself known to me and changed everything around in my life.I no longer had any desire to drink of do any type of drug or even smoke cigarettes(which I had smoked for 25 yrs) . The very next morning of the 25th was the very last time I smoke or did anything else injurous to my health . It has been Fifteen yrs now … The problem is over the last 4 yrs. I have been plague with illnesses and sickness and very strange disorders…. I am in extreme pain in most of my body. I have not experienced even one day without extreme pain . Although I am on heavy duty medicines…. Which they say is my only treatment …. So not only am I in pain but I am forced to take all these meds I hate…. My pain causes my blood pressure to skyrocket… So I am forced to take 3 different meds for that….. Ugh…. Are u sick of my rambling on I’m sorry. Although I PRAY and talk to God… Read the word and study . I feel so far away from God… I don’t know why and don’t know how to to get close to him again…I am very sad and feel very alone… Although I know I am not…

Dear Virginia. Being a Christian and in a close relationship with Jesus doesn’t mean being pain free, rich and prospers. Some preaches preach that way, but that’s not the Biblical way. If you remember Apostle Paul himself was sick and in extreme pain. He writes that he prayed the Lord three times to be pain-free, but the Lord said “my grace is enough for you.” And St. Paul obeyed. The more we walk with Jesus the more the devil will try to tempt us. This is a spiritual battle through which we pass and grow in this life. It’s like a seed, which is planted and needs to grow. And our Lord Himself told us to go through the narrow gate. By doing this we learn to live an obedient life to the Lord. This is a way to somehow with the help of God control our passions and rich to the point of peace. Do not despair. Hold on to our faith and pray daily. Read the Word of God. Every Sunday go to church and take Holy Communion. Love your God no matter what and love your neighbor.

Virginia it sounds to me that you are called by Jesus to be a suffering servant on the image of our Lord himself. This is a great grace even though it does not seem that way when you are living it. Our Lord himself did not have much fun when he had to go through his passion and death on the cross, the same for the Blessed Virgin Mary when she had to witness her suns’ sufferings.

Suffering servants have been very common in the history of Christianity and the suffering is always for the expiation of the sins of the world, the fact that you don’t feel any consolation is only adds to the suffering and to the power of expiation for the sins of this world. Don’t lose hart you are very close to Jesus even though you don’t feel like it.

        God Bless Virginia

Your brother in Christ , Mario Nieddu
