Why Did Jesus Tell Us About Upcoming Persecutions and Difficulties?

Christian Martyrs  When the Lord Jesus told Christians about upcoming persecutions and difficulties he said “All this I have told you so that you will not fall away” (John 16:1). When someones causes difficulties to another person’s life and mocks that person by saying “Where is your God?” it’s not because God doesn’t exist. It’s because “they have not known the Father” or the Lord Jesus (John 16:3). And our Lord taught us about this so that we know, for awaited things hit us far less than the unexpected hardship.

Still, the Savior taught us that the Comforter, the Holy Spirit will come to the world and somehow eventually all things will end up working for the good of those who love the Lord (Rom. 8:28).

Persecutions and difficulties cannot hurt you if you stand firm and live by the commandments. Do not be afraid of difficulties. If you truly love God and have put your mind on Christ you will have the courage to go through difficulties and come out victoriously because God has promised that His Spirit will guide us through every situation in life.

Your faith will grow stronger and will become firmly established on God.
